Glicenstein had a prestigious International career, including winning the Prix de Rome and being nominated for membership in the Paris Salon by Auguste Rodin. He had traveled to France to study with Rodin, but instead won Rodin's endorsement as a peer.  Rodin nominated Glicenstein to the French Salon, where they exhibited together during Glicenstein's tenure in France.

Glicenstein traveled to New York with his son, the painter Emanuel Romano (Glicenstien). In the United States, he exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago and the 1939 Worlds Fair, as well as in solo exhibitions in Manhattan.

Today Glicenstein is equally revered as a seminal figure in Jewish Art including Israeli patronage and the establishment of a museum wing dedicated to his art in Poland.
